MDO Rodeo Day

Grace's Mother's Day Out program held Rodeo Day yesterday to kick off the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Her Aunt Mer went and took pictures for Mommy since I had an appointment to check on Grace's little brother. Meredith rodeos herself, so this was a big deal for her. I don't think Grace was too impressed with the stick horses and such since she rides her Aunt Mer's barrel racing horse on a regular basis, but nevertheless, I think she had a good time! Here are some pics of her fun!

Grace LOVES slides!

Evidently she's already being chased by boys! (Her daddy hasn't seen this pic yet.)

One day she'll learn not to stand behind a horse!

Check out my pink boots! On another note, Grace's big girl room is completely finished, and Carter's nursery is almost done, just waiting on a few projects that Mommy needs to finish! As soon as they're ready, I'll post some pics!

4 weeks and counting...

As time gets shorter, I grow bigger! As of tomorrow, we have four weeks until Baby Carter is due to make his grand entrance...BUT, Doc said that I was foolish for not having my bags packed and ready to go, especially since this is our second baby and they're so close (20 months) together. Plus, he is in the ready position! I just hope he waits until after next week when I'll be full term. As uncomfortable as I am and ready to meet him, I know that the longer he stays in the oven, the healthier he'll be! I explained to Doc that I hadn't packed my bag yet because I don't have a homecoming outfit for the baby, and he didn't seem to think that was a priority. It is so easy to find dressy clothes for little girls and finding something for our son has been more of a challenge.

Many of you have asked if Grace is ready to meet her little brother. To be completely honest, I don't know how much she understands, if anything. She has noticed different things around the house labeled them as "baby" things like the bassinet, blankets, etc. She is having some jealousy issues right now if Stephen or I pay any attention to a baby other than her. I know that it will be an adjustment in the beginning, but I am praying that she will love him as her own because he will be!

I am still anxious about this whole experience even though we've already done it once. The same doubts and concerns that I had when those double lines showed up in July still bother me. I just have questions such as "Will I be able to love another baby as much as I love Grace? Will Grace know that I still love her even though I'll be spending so much with the baby at first? Will I survive the sleep deprivation that is inevitable with a newborn and a 20-month-old? How will I nurse this baby non-stop like I did with Grace when I have a toddler who thinks she should climb on everything?" (just to list a few...)

I go to the doctor every week now, so I'll post more when I know more! Speaking of posting, I am going to try really hard to do a better job with this blog than I did with the other one (which shouldn't be hard considering that I haven't posted there in 7 months!). I hated wordpress and think that blogger is so much easier and plan to figure out how to move over the original posts from that blog when I get a chance (which may not be for awhile).

Stay tuned!
